moon milk (turmeric milk tea)

a healing, vegan milk tea made with anti-inflammatory turmeric and ginger. sweetly spiced with cardamom and cinnamon. a soothing way to slow down for moon time or anytime.
ingredients
  • one cup almond milk (or any milk)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • few slices of fresh peeled ginger
  • and any, all, or none of the following:
  • cardamom pod
  • cinnamon
  • black pepper
  • honey
instructions
  1. pour most of the almond milk into a small saucespan, keeping aside just a tablespoon or so. mix the spices into the remainining tablespoon of almond milk. add the spiced concentrate along with the sliced ginger and cardamom pod to the saucepan and bring it all to a gentle simmer, stirring often until it's pleasantly hot and fragrant.
  2. using a small strainer to catch the ginger and cardamom pod, pour the moon milk into the most comforting mug you have. sweeten with honey if it pleases. breathe deeply, and enjoy.
